Captain Bill Nemec
Bill Nemec was born and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania and
grew up fishing local ponds and streams for many years. In 1971
Captain Bill moved to Ft Myers, FL and was introduced to the "Big O"
which is what the locals call Lake Okeechobee. Bill started fishing
local and regional tournaments along with national tournaments on
occasion.
It wasn't long before Bill's reputation brought him to work as
one of the "Top 7" guides as Roland Martin called them at his
marina. This was where Wild Shiner fishing was discovered and became
the way for most anglers to achieve a trophy for the wall. Bill will
be happy to give you the in-depth stories of these years as you
pursue your own trophy largemouth bass on beautiful Lake Okeechobee.
Below are just a few of Captain Bill's credits:
- 34 years experience on Lake Okeechobee and the Everglades
- Life Member of BASS
- Featured on Bassmaster television show fishing wild shiners
- Articles in Florida Sportsman on worm fishing along with other
publications
- Won or placed in many local and regional tournaments
throughout Florida
- USCG Licensed Captain
